Distribution

Off Dolphin Island, Dampier, Westren Australia, around the tropical north tooff Yamba, New South Wales. Elsewhere the species is known to occur in Timor Leste and Papua New Guinea.

Etymology

 Edgar Ravenswood Waite (1866–1928) was an English-born Australian zoologist and ichthyologist.
