Genus Ipnops
Summary:
A genus of small slender deep-sea fishes with a flattened head and abdomen. The unusual eyes lack a lens and are covered in a large thin bony membrane. Species live on the bottom in depths from about 1300 to about 5000 metres.
The genus contains four species, with two in Australian waters.
