Genus Leviprora


Summary:
An endemic flathead genus with two species found in southern Australia.

Pectoral-fin rays 18-19; no pre-ocular spine; no fleshy sensory tubes on cheek region; pored scales in lateral line with a single duct directed dorsally or ventrally; ratio of orbital diameter/interorbital width 2.3–4.7, tending to decrease with growth…………………………..………..……………………………………………………………………………………… L. inops 
1b. Pectoral-fin rays 20–21; preocular spine present; fleshy sensory tubes on cheek region developed, covering dorsal and posteroventral portions of cheek; pored scales in lateral line with two ducts directed dorsally and ventrally, respectively; ratio of orbital diameter/interorbital width 1.5–2.8, tending to decrease with growth……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… L. semermis
