Summary:
A bighead dory with a silvery body, a black tip to the first dorsal fin, and a pinkish caudal fin with a black margin. Bighead dories have a relatively slender body, a large head with exposed sculptured bones, a very large eye, an almost vertical upturned mouth, and strong fin spines.

Continental slope off Cape York, Queensland, to east of Lakes Entrance, Victoria. Inhabits seamounts, ridges and rises. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical west-Pacific. |
