Distribution

Endemic to tropical and temperate coastal waters of northern and eastern Australia, from the Fitzroy River, Western Australia, to the Georges River and Port Hacking, in the Sydney region, New South Wales.

Colour

Pale olive-brown above, shading  to almost white below with a light golden tinge; second dorsal, anal and caudal fins with dusky margins, membrane of second dorsal fin with scattered dark spots; axilla of pectoral fin with a dark spot; iris golden.
