Distribution

Rottnest Island to Jurien Bay, Western Australia. A secretive species found on inshore rocky reefs.

Features

Dorsal fin 88-90; Anal fin 68-69. Anterior nostril rather high, located about midway between upper lip and posterior nostril. Developed gill raker 3. Opercle with a sharp spine, sometimes embedded in the skin.
