Endemic to Western Australia, from Albany in the south, northwards to North West Cape. Inhabits coastal reefs at depths to 60 m. |
Similar Species |
The Western Red Scorpionfish differs from the other southern Australian species of Scorpaena in having a deeper body, and a deeper groove on the head behind the eye. |
