Summary:
A silvery sardine with a bluish-green back becoming almost white below.
This species was previously misidentified as Dussumieria elopsoides (which is endemic to Indonesia and the Philippines).

Port Hedland, Northwest Shelf, Western Australia, to Townsville, Queensland. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific.

Feeding

Feeds on zooplankton, including crustaceans and smaller fishes.
