Summary:
A slender pink scorpionfish with 5 large indistinct darker blotches on the sides, the first three below the spinous dorsal, one below the soft dorsal and one on the caudal-fin base.

Distribution

Off North West Cape, Western Australia, to west of Cartier Island in the Timor Sea, and off Raine Island, north Queensland. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical, west-central Pacific.

Remarks


Similar Species

The Tripleband Scorpionfish, Lioscorpius trifasciatus, differs in colour pattern, and in having three spines and five soft rays in the anal fin, versus two spines and six rays in L. longiceps.
