Distribution

Ashmore Reef, Coral Sea, and Lizard Island Great Barrier Reef to Brisbane, Queensland, reefs in the Coral Sea, and Lord Howe Island, Middleton and Elizabeth reefs, in the Tasman Sea. The species occurs elsewhere in the tropical, south-west Pacific.
