Distribution

Off the North West Shelf, Western Australia, SSW of Cartier Island, Timor Sea, and east of Cape York, Queensland. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical, east-Indo-west Pacific (South China Sea, Fiji, New Caledonia).

Features

Dorsal fin 100-105; Anal fin 86-92; Vertebrae 61-62; Gill rakers 10-12 long rakers,
Two spines on hind margin of preoperculum, six small pseudobranchial filaments.
