Distribution

Endemic to south-western Western Australia, from the Albany region to the Houtman Abrolhos.

Etymology

The specific name is from the Latin vesperalis (= west), in reference to the type locality (Western Australia), which is also the westernmost occurrence of the S. papillosa complex.
