Summary:
A bright reddish Rhinopias with a silvery-white marking from the eye to the end of the upper jaw, a white spot on the upper side above the rear of the pectoral fin, a relatively low dorsal fin, and few skin ornaments compared with other species in the genus.

Distribution

Coral Sea in Australia's EEZ. Elsewhere the species occurs in Japan.

Features

Pectoral fin 18.
No obvious skin flaps on lower jaw and few on body; no supraorbital tentacle or flap, fourth dorsal spine longest.

Colour

No black spots on fins.

Etymology

The specific name argoliba is from the Greek argos (= white) and libos (= tear, drop), in reference to the "milky-white  teardrop below the eye".
