Summary:
A dark brown triggerfish with white dorsal and anal fins with a black margin, a pinkish caudal fin with a white base, and a yellowish snout and pectoral fin.

Ningaloo Reef , Rowley Shoals and Scott Reef , WA, Cartier Reef, Timor Sea, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, and the northern Great Barrier Reef to Moreton Bay, Queensland; also on reefs in the Coral Sea. The species occurs elsewhere in the tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific. |
Feeding |
Feeds mostly on algae and detritus, and also on crustaceans, cephalopods, sponges and fishes. |
