Angler Flatfish Asterorhombus cocosensis (Bleeker 1855) Actinopterygii > Pleuronectiformes > Bothidae > Asterorhombus A flounder with an elongate first-dorsal-fin ray comprised of a bare stalk and a leaf-like membrane distally on ray - thought to resemble a shrimp or small fish. The Angler Flatfish is pale brown and finely mottled with paler and darker spots, and larger widely spaced blackish blotches (surrounded by small white dots).

Leopard Flounder Bothus pantherinus (Rüppell 1830) Actinopterygii > Pleuronectiformes > Bothidae > Bothus A brownish to greyish left-eyed flounder with dark spots and dark-edged pale spots and florets on the eyed-side, and a large dark blotch on the straight section of the lateral line towards the rear of the body.
