  • Angler Flatfish Angler Flatfish Asterorhombus cocosensis (Bleeker 1855) Actinopterygii > Pleuronectiformes > Bothidae > Asterorhombus A flounder with an elongate first-dorsal-fin ray comprised of a bare stalk and a leaf-like membrane distally on ray - thought to resemble a shrimp or small fish. The Angler Flatfish is pale brown and finely mottled with paler and darker spots, and larger widely spaced blackish blotches (surrounded by small white dots).
  • Leopard Flounder Leopard Flounder Bothus pantherinus (Rüppell 1830) Actinopterygii > Pleuronectiformes > Bothidae > Bothus A brownish to greyish left-eyed flounder with dark spots and dark-edged pale spots and florets on the eyed-side, and a large dark blotch on the straight section of the lateral line towards the rear of the body.
