Summary:
A species of Satyrichthys with three lip and usually no (rarely two) chin barbels, no dusky spots on the head and body, antrose spines on upper lateral bony plates of the caudal peduncle, and the parietal bones of both sides on the dorsal mid-line are the same size.

Off Exmouth, Western Australia, to Evans Shoal, Northern Territory. Elsewhere the species occurs in the east-Indo-west Pacific: Indonesia, East China Sea and Japan in depths of 192–420 m. |
