Summary:
A semi-transparent goby with a yellowish to pinkish hue, faint dark scale margins, a series of internal brown dashes along the vertebral column, seven brown spots along the lower side and a white stripe on the snout.

Distribution

Recorded in Australia from Ashmore Reef, Timor Sea, Cape Wilberforce, NT, and the northern Great Barrier Reef, QLD. Occurs elsewhere in the tropical, west Pacific.
Inhabits coral reefs, living on large fan sponges, often on the underside.

Features

Dorsal fin VI + I, 8-9; Anal fin I, 6-9; Pectoral fin 15-17; Longitudinal scale series 23-27.
Body relatively elongate, depth at anus 6.2-8.3 in SL; side of nape scaled; gill opening restricted to pectoral fin-base.
