Summary:
A dark brown shrimpgoby with a white back, lips, snout and head, and a series of dark saddles crossing the back. Saddled shrimpgobies share burrows with alpheid shrimps.

Distribution

Known from Lizard Island to Wangetti Beach, Queensland. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical, west-central Pacific. Inhabits open sandy and fine rubble areas on sheltered protected reefs - sharing burrows with alpheid shrimps.

Features

Dorsal fin VI-VII, 10-11; Anal fin I, 9-10; Pectoral fin 16-17; Longitudinal scale series 90. 
Greatest body depth 5.2-6.6 in SL; caudal fin rounded, longer than head; pelvic fins united, frenum present; head naked.
