Summary:
A peachy orange fairy wrasse becoming white below, with black scale centres, especially posteriorly giving a cross-hatched pattern, a black dorsal fin with a row of metallic blue basal spots, elongated first and second dorsal-fin spines form a short pennant, large black pelvic fins, a black anal fin with a broad white basal stripe, and a steely blue caudal fin with a series of spots and stripes.

Distribution

Found only at Hibernia Reef in the western Timor Sea, Western Australia. Inhabits flat rubble areas with dense Halimeda growth.

Etymology

The species is named in honour of Hugh Morrison, owner of the Perth Diving Academy.
