Distribution

Northwest Shelf, NNW of Port Hedland, Western Australia, to Finke Bay, Northern Territory. Found elsewhere in the tropical, East-Indo-West Pacific.

Lophichthys boschmai Boeseman, 1964, Zool. Med. 39: 13, pls 1(figs 1-3), 2(fig. 1).Type locality: Arafura Sea near Merauke, Irian Jaya, Indonesia.
