Introduced from Central America via the aquarium trade to the Ross River weirs, Townsville, Queensland.

Species Citation

Heros citrinellus Günther 1864, Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London 1864(1): 153. Type locality: Lake Nicaragua, Nicaragua.
