Genus Hexanchus


Summary:
A genus with two species, both in Australian waters. Head moderately flattened above; upper teeth with prominent slender cusp curved outward, lower teeth comb-like, with 7–10 cusps decreasing in length from front to back, distinctive median tooth when present in lower jaw but not upper; 6 pairs of gill openings.
