Genus Idiotropiscis
An endemic Australian genus with 3 species. Idiotropiscis was previously considered subgenus of Acentronura. Body moderately elongate; STR and STAR discontinuous; LTR not confluent with LTAR; eggs brooded in enclosed brood pouch on underside of trunk; tail prehensile; body and sometimes head with fleshy flaps; head directed at slight angle to line of body; dorsal fin centrally on back with short base; anal fin tiny, below rear end of dorsal fin; caudal fin absent; pectoral fins very small; pectoral fins present.
