Distribution

Northwest Shelf,Western Australia, and off Raine Island, Queensland, to off about Byron Bay, New South Wales. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific. Inhabits sandy and muddy areas.

Dorsal fin IV-V, 28-31; Anal fin IV, 14-16.
