Distribution |
Darwin area to near the mouth of the Roper River, Northern Territory. Elsewhere, the species occurs in New Guinea. Inhabits mangrove-lined creeks and fringing coastal mangroves in brackish to marine waters. Individuals aggregate among submerged roots or inundated leaves and branches, and may form large schools. |
