Recorded in Australia from north Western Australia and the Great Barrier Reef, QLD. Elsewhere in the tropical, west Pacific.

Diagramma chrysotaenia Bleeker, 1855, Natuur. Tijdschr. Neder. Indië 9: 303. Type locality: Ujung Pandang (as Makassar), Sulawesi (as Celebes), Indonesia.
