Distribution

From off NW Western Australia to southern New South Wales in depths of 25-200 m.

Remarks

An examination of stomach contents of more than 1000 specimens of Champsodon snyderi from Tosa Bay, Japan found that they preyed mostly on Bregmaceros nectabanus.
