Distribution	Western Australia: Shark Bay to the Dampier Archipelago, Western Australia, at depths to 48 m. Inhabits sandy areas in tide pools to 48 m depth.
Etymology	The specific name quadriocellatus is from the Latin quadri- (= four) and ocellatus (= ocellate), in reference to the four ocellated spots on the eyed side: 'belly on eyed side with two large black ocelli, posterior part of tail with a large black ocellus each at dorsal and ventral margin'.
