Summary:
A pale brown left-eyed flounder with a black blotch on the anterior one-fifth part of the trunk just below the lateral line, and a dark blotch at the rear of the dorsal and anal fin bases.

Similar Species |
Differs from the Branchray Flounder, Citharoides macrolepidotus, in having a longer orbit, a greater distance between the upper eye and the dorsal profile, and a wider space between each eye and the anterior rim of the orbit. |
Etymology |
The specific name orbitalis is from the Latin orbita in reference to the long orbit in this species. |
