Genus Spicomacrurus


Summary:
A genus of grenadiers with a net-like pattern of black epithelium covering the gular region; an elongate posterior dermal window of the light organ; a membranous flange on the distal portion of the outer pelvic-fin ray; and a protruding snout formed by three broad horizontally flattened processes of the nasal bones.
