Genus Kanekonia


Summary:
A genus with three species, two recorded form Australia. Body short, deep; head extremely large; mouth large, lower jaw protruding; preopercle with 5 blunt spines; scales in form of outwardly projecting spines, appearing as tiny papillae, those on dorsum and side of body largest; dorsal fin continuous, originating over posterior part of eye, spinous part of dorsal-fin longer than soft part.
