A purplish pygmygoby with six reddish-orange stripe on the head and anterior body, and an elongate filamentous second dorsal-fin spine.

Hibernia Reef (11°58'S) to Ashmore Reef (12°15'S), WA, and Ashmore Reef, Coral Sea (10°26'S) and Yonge Reef (14°36'S) to Escape Reef (15°49'S), QLD. Occurs elsewhere in the tropical, east-Indo-west-central Pacific.
Usually found in caves, crevices and under ledges in deep lagoons and protected outer reef slopes.
