Distribution |
Recorded in Australia from Ashmore Reef, Timor Sea, and the northern Great Barrier Reef, Queensland. Occurs elsewhere in the tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific. Lives on several genera of hard corals in depths of 10-50 m. Occasionally found on the mantle of clams. |

Dorsal fin VI + I, 7-8; Anal fin I, 7-8; Pectoral fin 16-19; Longitudinal scale series 22-28. Body depth at anus 5.0-7.1 in SL; median predorsal scales absent, scales present on side of nape to above the preopercle; gill opening broad, reaching at least to below the rear edge of the eye. |
