Summary:
Head and body pale with a dusky yellowish-orange midlateral stripe and alternating blue and yellowish-orange stripes on the dorsal and anal fins; chin with a low, longitudinal, median fold.

Distribution |
Widespread in the Western Pacific from the Philippines to Palau and the Solomon Islands, the Ryukyu Islands in Southern Japan, and south to Queensland, Australia. Inhabits rubble and sandy areas on seaward reefs, occasionally sheltering in burrows. |
