Summary:
A greyish to brown scalyfin with a broad white band on the body behind the pectoral fin. Juveniles are bright yellow to brownish-yellow with neon-blue lines and spots, and a paler indistinct broad band on the body.

Distribution

Mudjimba Island, Queensland, to Eden, New South Wales. Adults often occur on offshore reefs and around islands, while juveniles frequently inhabit inshore reefs.
