Distribution

West of Cape Freycinet, Wos (Keeling) Islands and Christmas Island regions in the eastern Indian Ocean. Elsewhere the species occurs in the Atlantic, and Indian to northeast Pacific oceans.

Etymology

The species is named for Frederick H. Berry, formerly of the U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service, who first collected the species, brought it to the attention of the senior author.
