Summary:

A glidergoby with a series of yellow cross bars on the body and a yellow stripe along the lower sides, blue spots on the head, blue stripes below the eye, and a large black blotch on the first dorsal fin. 

Glidergobies seek refuge in shallow burrows.

Distribution

Great Barrier Reef, Queensland and reefs in the Coral Sea, to the Solitary Islands, New South Wales. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical, south-west Pacific (New Caledonia, Fiji and Tonga).

Etymology

The specific name decora is from the Latin decorus meaning 'adorned' or 'elegant', in reference to the beautiful colour pattern of this species.
