A silvery flagtail with a blackish snout and lips, and a yellow caudal fin with a dark fin-base and a broad dark posterior margin.

Distribution

Recorded in Australia from Cape York to Cardwell, Queensland. Found elsewhere in southern Japan (including Ogasawara Island), New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji. Inhabits coastal waters including estuaries and mangrove areas.

Feeding

Feeds on small fishes, crustaceans and insects.
