A silvery flagtail with a blackish snout and lips, and a yellow caudal fin with a dark fin-base and a broad dark posterior margin.

Distribution |
Recorded in Australia from Cape York to Cardwell, Queensland. Found elsewhere in southern Japan (including Ogasawara Island), New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji. Inhabits coastal waters including estuaries and mangrove areas. |
Feeding |
Feeds on small fishes, crustaceans and insects. |
