Summary:
A reddish-brown to red grouper with angled blue lines on the head, and blue spots and dashes on the body and fins, some forming vertical lines on the midsides.

Recorded in Australia from Scott Reef, Western Australia, and the northern Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, and Ashmore Reef in the Coral Sea. The species occurs elsewhere in the tropical, west-central Pacific. |
