Distribution

NW of the Dampier Archipelago to the Arafura Sea, NNE of the Cobourg Peninsula, Northern Territory. Elsewhere, the species occurs in the Indo-Pacific, from the Gulf of Aden and the Bay of Bengal, to Western Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and the South China Sea, Philippines, and New Caledonia.

Fisheries

Of minor commercial importance in parts of its range (not Australia).
