Distribution

Southwest of Marion Reef, Coral Sea, ~570 km east of Townsville, Queensland.

Remarks

The species is known only from the holotype, a mature female, 12.4mm SL, complete with eggs in the ovaries.

Etymology

The species is named bettyae in honour of Christopher Goatley’s Great Aunt Betty, and her support.

Tempestichthys bettyae Goatley & Tornabene 2022, Systematics and Biodiversity 20(1): Figs. Type locality: South-west of Marion Reef, Coral Sea (19 17.4' S, 152 14.3' E).
