Genus Amblyeleotris

Summary:

Species in the genus Amblyeleotris live on coral reefs in symbiotic relationships with alpheid shrimps. The shrimps excavate burrows in sandy or loose coral rubble bottoms, while the gobies stand guard on the lookout for predators.

Chen et al. (2006) provide a key to species from the West-Pacific.
