Summary:
A pale greenish to brownish-grey cardinalfish with a white-edged black stripe running from the snout and tapering to a point on the middle of the tail.
Unlike most cardinalfishes, this species swims in open water, mimicing the One-striped fangblenny, Meiacanthus vittatus (a species not found in Australian waters).
