Summary:
A slender burrowing fish with small close-set eyes on top of the head, the dorsal fin about half the length of the anal fin, and arising well behind anal-fin origin, terminating distinctly before the rear end of anal-fin base. Males have much longer pectoral and pelvic fins than females. Body translucent, darker above with a mottled patter, paler below, fins transparent.
