Summary:
An iridescent coppery to pale dusky-pink cardinalfish with a broad dark band around the tail base that is wider in the centre than at the edges, a dark stripe on the snout, and electric blue lines on the face. Juveniles have a dark spot on the middle of the tail base rather than a band or bar.

Ashmore Reef, Timor Sea. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical west Pacific. Usually inhabits shallow coral reefs areas with moderate currents, with small to large schools sheltering in crevices. |
