Summary:
A mottled brown to reddish brown cardinalfish with 6-8 pale narrow bars on sides, pale bands radiating from the eyes and no dark spot on the gill cover.

Distribution |
Rowley Shoals, WA, and Boot Reef to One Tree Island, QLD, aldo Lord Howe Island, Tasman Sea. The species occurs elsewhere in the tropical, Indo-west Pacific. Inhabits sheltered coastal reefs and lagoons. A secretive species that often shelters among Acropora corals. |
