Recorded from the Australian Territory of Ashmore Reef and Cartier Islands in the Timor Sea. Elsewhere the species occurs in the Indo-west Pacific. |
Etymology |
The sepcies is named in honour of George W. Vanderbilt III, a yachtsman and explorer, who organized 1937 expedition to the South Pacific, during which type specimens were collected. |
