Summary:
An amphibious combtooth blenny found in the intertidal zone on reefs. Leaping blennies live in the spray zone, leaping from rock pool to rock pool when distrubed. They spend much of their time out of water, attaching themselves to the surface by a filamentous adhesive pad.
The Leaping Blenny is known from the Australian Territory of Christmas Island in the eastern Indian Ocean.

Distribution

Recorded from the Australian territory of Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean. Inhabits the intertidal zone on exposed rocky shores.

Biology

Solitary males guarded their eggs until  the larvae hatch. Larvae are planktonic, often found in shallow, coastal waters.
